FEMALE ATHLETES. 2019

Athletes, sportspersons and bodybuilders are in effect, artists and their sport is a very personal form of expression to dream up their ideal version of themselves. It’s extraordinary how the individual strives to develop their skill and bodies into absolute perfection. In a primarily male dominated arena, Kenyan female athletes are challenging the stereotype, and through their own self-realisation are also empowering women to go beyond established norms that define what the female physique should be. Their radical physical transformation directly mirrors Kenya’s cultural and ideological transformation.
